What is Fish and Chips?
Fish and chips is a dish consisting of freshly fried battered fish and deep fried chips. Chips also known as french fries are potatoes cut into strips and then deep fried. It is believed that fish and chips originated in England in the 1800s. Traditionally, fish and chips were sprinkled with salt and vinegar before being served wrapped in newspaper. Today, condiments include ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard.
