Yudofu (soft hot tofu)

What is Yudofu?

Yudofu are tofu pieces boiled in a bowl of lightly seasoned hot water, and dipped into soy sauce or ponzu (lemon-flavored soy sauce) before being eaten. Yudofu is a Kyoto specialty because of the prevalence of the Buddhist monk cuisine. It is frequently served during the colder seasons.
