What is New York-Style Pizza?

New York-style pizza is a style of pizza with a thin crust which is crisp on the edge yet soft and pliable in the center. This style of pizza is similar to the Neapolitan but New York pizza is larger (14 to 18 inches in diameter). New Yorkers frequently fold their slices of pizza in half to eat it. At the turn of the 20th century, New York’s first pizzas were made at Lombardi’s pizzeria which is still open today.
